Our team are down-to-earth, all-around awesome people who also happen to be really good at what they do! We may be a little biased, but we know that we work really hard to ensure excellence at all times, and we’re really picky about choosing the people that we work with. They are all individual, motivated, and a little bit crazy. But we love them all dearly! All of our instructors hold government recognised nationally accredited Pilates qualifications (Cert IV, Diploma or Advanced Diploma level) which is the minimum standard for employment at PFI. Being the WA provider of the accredited Pilates qualifications means that we are able to choose to employ the most talented graduates from our programs.
It’s important to us that you are in the safest and most skilled hands possible.Did you know that through our accredited Pilates qualifications at PFI Training, our students are required to undertake the greatest number of work experience hours on top of lectures and multiple other assessments compared to any other Pilates courses?
Our administration team are our spine, and without them we would crumble. These fabulous people are multitasking masters who also have top-notch skills in administration, banking and communications.
Our Pilates Style
We teach Pilates. Pilates is an amazing method of body conditioning that is suitable for everyone. If you would like to read more about what Pilates is, click here but if you want to know more about the PFI style then keep on reading.
Our unique Pilates style is defined by the following:
Dynamics – our Pilates style builds upon the natural dynamics of the Pilates method on several different levels. First and foremost we keep the movements active and sustained throughout the whole session so that there is never a wasted moment or movement. Also, within each movement, additional dynamics are applied in the form of differences in pace, types of muscle contractions and breathing techniques that will challenge and progress you at your level. These elements come together to ensure a more fully-rounded workout through Pilates.
Progression – Pilates results are astounding but this can only be achieved through the correct technique and progression. This learning progression is totally unique to Pilates and is unlike any other type of exercise system. Our structure ensures that you are always in a learning environment that is matched to your level and this always produces the fastest and best results.
Function – we are extremely focused (read this as total perfectionists!) about correct technique. Without proper form and function, you won’t actually be doing Pilates which means the results just won’t happen for you like they should. Our style is very specific and there is never a movement that is there for the sake of it. All our programming approaches are chosen to exactly facilitate the function you need and this is applied at differing levels across our whole range of services.
Flow – flow equals enjoyment, endorphins and that feeling at the end of your session of ‘how did I get here?!’ Every movement is seamlessly connected to the next, enabling long, smooth, functional movements that can only be compared to the blissful satisfaction of liquid chocolate! Flow doesn’t necessarily mean fast pace, it instead describes the fluidity of the movements that ensures protection of joints, comfort and prolonged muscle connections.
Communication – the best teachers are those that can successfully communicate the knowledge and skills they have to others. Our style of delivery is unique to our company and revolves around the emphasis on the ‘why’ and the ‘how’. Our instructors have the best communication skills so that you always feel confident and understand what you are trying to achieve and how you do it.
Creativity – our instructors are all consistently cohesive but fostered individually in their approach. We like to think outside the box and to keep evolving what we do which means that you will never be bored and will continue to progress, which is of the utmost importance to us.
Blend of traditional and contemporary methods – Pilates was created a long time ago. The original principles and essence of the method are timeless and will always underpin what we do. Naturally though, as lifestyle, people and modern physiology knowledge has evolved, it is necessary to apply contemporary applications where relevant in order to keep on the cutting edge of our industry.
